LIFE EVENTS:

Another Interpretation by R. MacQuarrie:

Andre Gaudry Sr. Andre Sr, was not yet at Red River by the time of the first Red River census in May 1827, and his name is not present in any of the pre-1827 Red River sources.

Andre and his young family were counted in the May 1828 census. It is pretty safe to say that Andre had arrived at Red River in the late summer or early fall of 1827, because a list of marriages at St. Boniface indicates that he was formally married there (his name mis-transcribed as Andre Guy) some time in 1827.

In May of 1828 he and Marie-Madeleine had a young son, and it is likely that the child was their oldest known son, Amable Gaudry. However, Amable himself stated that he was born at St. Boniface in July of 1826. If he was actually born at St. Boniface, it was probably in 1827 rather than 1826.
