Presenting my Research on GAUDRY persons mentioned in

TREATY WITH THE CHIPPEWA, 1854.
Sept. 30, 1854. | 10 Stats., 1109. | Ratified Jan. 10, 1855. | Proclaimed Jan. 29, 1855.

ARTICLE 2.
The United States agree to set apart and withhold from sale,
for the use of the Chippewas of Lake Superior, the following-described tracts of land, viz:

CLAUSE 7th.
Each head of a family, or single person over twenty-one years of age at the present time
of the mixed bloods, belonging to the Chippewas of Lake Superior, shall be entitled to eighty
acres of land, to be selected by them under the direction of the President, and which shall be
secured to them by patent in the usual form.

Note:  Is the Madeline here our Madeleine DAVID or a daughter of the same name?
Note:  Though these Native persons may have recieved scrip already as Metis in
Manitoba or even Red Lake or Pembina Chippewa, the land the whites
are giving away is Native land and that it is the whites who have created
tribal areas and tribal chiefs. Naturally if someone is giving away native land
these people would get in line. Wouldn't you?
Note:  Other Bouvette family members are also applying for this scrip. Marchands
and even a "Louis BEWVAULT"!! I have not yet found all the family members.
